Public input sought on City of Toronto Act, 2006 and other municipal legislation

The City of Toronto encourages Torontonians to provide their input this summer to the Province of Ontario on how municipal legislation is working. Led by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Province is reviewing key pieces of municipal legislation to ensure that municipalities across Ontario have the tools, powers and flexibility they need to effectively serve their communities.

City of Toronto seeks input to build Cycling Network Plan

The City of Toronto's Transportation Services division is in the process of developing a new 10-year plan for Toronto's Cycling Network. Toronto residents and businesses are being asked to provide their input by commenting on the draft Cycling Network Plan map.

Toronto Board of Health announces recipients of 2015 Public Health Champion awards

An individual and an organization that have made outstanding contributions toward protecting and promoting the health of Toronto's residents were honoured today as recipients of the 2015 Public Health Champion Awards. The awards were presented to Floydeen Charles-Fridal and the Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services agency at today's meeting of the Toronto Board of Health.

Mayor Tory announces an Advocate for the Arts and support for a new Arts in the Parks project

Toronto Mayor John Tory today announced that Councillor John Filion (Ward 23 Willowdale) will be his new Advocate for the Arts. Among other initiatives, Councillor Filion will lead a new Arts in the Parks project, which will receive an infusion of funding from part of the proceeds of the Mayor's Evening for the Arts.
