Anne Michaels selected as Toronto's new Poet Laureate

Internationally acclaimed poet and novelist Anne Michaels has been selected as Toronto's fifth Poet Laureate, pending approval by City Council at its November session.

City of Toronto officially launches enhanced youth space at Heron Park Community Recreation Centre

City Councillor Ron Moeser (Ward 44 Scarborough East), City of Toronto staff and local youth joined members of the City's Youth Space Advisory Committee and local youth organizations today to officially launch the enhanced youth space at Heron Park Community Recreation Centre.

Dufferin Street road work completed ahead of schedule

The road resurfacing and sidewalk work on Dufferin Street, from Lawrence Avenue West to Jane Osler Boulevard (just south of Highway 401), has been completed and all lanes of traffic have been reinstated four weeks earlier than anticipated.

Nuit Blanche transforms Toronto for the 10th consecutive year, 14 projects remain on view through October 12

From sunset to sunrise, audiences filled Toronto's streets for the 10th edition of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. They experienced more than 110 contemporary art projects from 400 local, national and international artists, ranging from sculpture and performance art to interactive installations to mixed-media, and beyond.
