Changes to access to the Gardiner Expressway at Jameson Avenue

Changes to the work zone of Toronto's Gardiner Expressway construction project from Spadina Avenue to Dufferin Street will result in the reinstatement of weekday closure of the ramp from westbound Lake Shore Boulevard to the westbound Gardiner Expressway at Jameson Avenue. The ramp will be closed between 2 and 7 p.m. on weekdays (Monday to Friday), effective today, Friday, November 6.

Toronto taxi fares to be reduced beginning November 1

Beginning November 1, the base fare to enter a taxicab will be $3.25. This $1 decrease was approved by Toronto City Council at its September meeting.

Temporary closure of section of Adelaide Street in Toronto

The section of Adelaide Street between Bay and Yonge Streets in downtown Toronto is fully closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic due to reports of a cracked window at a hotel in the vicinity.

Time to change smoke and carbon monoxide alarm batteries as daylight saving time ends November 1

Daylight saving time ends this weekend, when clocks are turned back an hour. Toronto Fire Services reminds residents that this annual change of clocks back to standard time is an opportune time to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

City of Toronto sees a spike in raccoons with canine distemper

Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) is a virus present in the raccoon population, but at low levels. Distemper cases in raccoons tend to spike in the fall.
