A StreetARToronto (StART) mural was unveiled today on the Lower Don River Trail at the Bala pedestrian and cycling underpass. Located southeast of Corktown Commons at the edge of the West Don Lands this large scale mural will transform the unassuming underpass into a place to pause and reflect.
Councillor Michael Thompson (Ward 37 Scarborough Centre), Chair of Toronto's Economic Development Committee, launched Workforce Development Month at the grand opening of a new Michaels retail store in RioCan Hall, a three-storey shopping centre at 142 John St., where many residents have secured employment opportunities through the City's recruitment partnership with Michaels.
Councillor Shelley Carroll (Ward 33 Don Valley East) and City of Toronto staff joined local youth and community members today to celebrate the grand opening of Parkway Forest Community Centre and its youth space. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, entertainment and activities to highlight the different spaces in the community centre and programming offered.

StreetARToronto (StART) murals unveiled at Royal York Road and Dundas Street West celebrate the beauty and history of the Humber Valley Village neighbourhoods while transforming the underpass into a more inviting place to pass through and visit. Created by celebrated local artist Emilia Jajus, the two murals are located on Royal York Road just north of Dundas Street West.
