Westbound Gardiner Expressway fully reopens after completion of construction work

The Gardiner Expressway work between Exhibition Place and Grand Magazine Street in Toronto has been completed sooner than expected, which has resulted in the reinstatement of the three westbound lanes of traffic.

City of Toronto promotes safe and affordable rooming houses

The City of Toronto today announced that it has issued a request for proposals for repairs and upgrades to rooming houses and single-occupancy residences in Toronto. The investment, which will improve the living conditions of about 400 tenants in approximately 30 rooming houses, will draw upon federal and provincial funding in support of affordable housing in the city.

City of Toronto recognizes excellence in volunteering 2015

Today at City Hall, the City of Toronto recognized and thanked volunteers from the City's 10 long-term care homes and community programs for their excellence in volunteering. Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee, joined other councillors and City officials at the annual event, which recognizes individuals and groups for donating their time, energy and skills to enhance the lives of residents and clients in the City's long-term care homes.

City of Toronto considers increasing its work-based learning opportunities to help youth build skills and experience

The City of Toronto's new youth employment action plan was endorsed by the Economic Development Committee today. The plan, called Work-Based Learning Works: An Action Plan for Youth Employment in Toronto, will go forward to City Council in May for consideration.
