Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile Virus in Toronto

Toronto Public Health (TPH) has received a lab report indicating mosquitoes in Toronto have tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). This is the first positive test for WNV in Toronto for 2014.

Weekend event with road closure in Toronto - August 8th-10th, 2014

The Taste of the Danforth event will involve a road closure this weekend. Danforth Avenue will be closed in both directions from Friday, August 8 at 11 a.m. to Monday, August 11 at 1 a.m.

City of Toronto and partners officially open revitalized McGregor Park playground

The Mayor of Toronto, the Councillor for Ward 37 Scarborough Centre, and City of Toronto staff joined project partners and community members today for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the one-day rebuild and opening of the revitalized McGregor Park playground.

2014 CIMA Toronto Mayor's Cricket Team announced

Mayor Rob Ford, Councillor Anthony Perruzza (Ward 8 York West), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee, and City of Toronto staff today joined Jonathan Dart, British Consul General, and corporate partners the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and Tom's Place to announce and congratulate the 12 youth selected for the seventh annual Cricket Across the Pond program.
